scout camp day four

Scout camp day four came to an end and I was released from duty and able to head back home to my A/C and pillow top bed. I am truly relieved but already missing the scouts and the camaraderie of the camp site.

I learned a lot from the boys over the last few weeks watching them bond together to get things done, and how team work truly works at its core. I saw pecking orders and compromises, squabbles and solutions, and victory and defeat.

We could all learn a lot from a scouting trip on how we behave with others in stressful scenarios and how we can help those not as strong by guidance or also cause harm by ill comments.

I would recommend you to spend time with your local scout troop even on an overnight trip to see how these young men can conquer most issues and not let adversity or defeat halt their progress. I will be looking forward to next years trip, hopefully not in the hottest week of June!

Have a great weekend.

Thanks
